Smart Planning Awards Favorable Time Extensions
Overview
This $90 million project consisted of the renovation of five buildings, the addition of seven bridges, and an eight-story tower on the main campus of the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center.
Peritia was contracted by Woodward Design+Build to lead the planning and scheduling efforts. Peritia conducted pull planning sessions with the contractor and subcontractors to develop a coordinated plan of construction, implemented Primavera P6 and CPM scheduling techniques to develop the baseline schedule, performed periodic schedule updates and schedule oversight inclusive of progress reporting, key milestone tracking, and schedule gains/slippage. Peritia also assisted the client with tracking delays and impacts due to the owner, architect, and subcontractors, as well as helped track long-lead material delivery timeframes, and COVID-19 related delays.
Solution
Although Peritia is still currently assisting the client by doing weekly updates to further monitor the schedule as the project gets closer to completion, and using the schedules built during the project to assist our client with claims and dispute support, Peritia has helped its client prove up owner delays to be able to request and be awarded time extensions.
